I have nominated Nurse Liz as a Superstar because she is the perfect example of a School Nurse who makes a difference every day. As a former emergency room nurse, she is now the nurse for both an elementary school and an intermediate school. She is loved by staff, parents, and students alike. Liz is a combination of kind, compassionate, cool under pressure, quick on her feet, and a committed team player. She has led a medical emergency in which an AED was used to save a staff member's life. She consistently advocates for her students' needs by researching and obtaining resources for her students and their families. Some examples of this including setting up eye exams, pediatrician appointments, and collaborating with social work to advocate for her families’ needs after Hurricane Helene. Thank you for considering Nurse Liz as one of your Superstars—she is definitely a Superstar for her schools, colleagues, staff, and especially, her students!
