Nurse Risa is the ultimate superstar! She goes above and beyond her role and responsibilities as our high school nurse. Her office is filled all day long with teens that are looking for a listening ear. She is a mentor, a sound counsel, and a positive role model for all students and colleagues. In addition to also offering an after school babysitting certification course and community cpr training, Risa is also the co-advisor of our high school’s A Healthy Lynnfield Youth Council, which focuses on substance use prevention and mental health education. This involves regular meetings and project implementation before and after school with a group of 40+ students. This spring, Risa also organized a student wellness fair with over 50 vendors during the school day offering the students a wide variety of wellness educational with experts on topics such as dermatology, domestic violence, athletic training, underage drinking, dental care, and so much more. We are so fortunate to have Nurse Risa in our building every day!
