School Nurse Strategies: Working with Students with Special Health Needs
During this webinar school nurses will gain an understanding of working with students with special health care needs. The presenters have a wide range of expertise in the area, developing courses, research, and presentations. The attendees will learn the importance of family engagement and school needs.
The speakers are Barbara Singer MSN, RN, NCSN-E and Erin Sivak MSN, BSN, RN.
Barbara Singer MSN, RN, NCSN-E and Erin Sivak MSN, BSN, RN.
Barbara Singer has over 20 years of school nursing experince. She was the Director of school services in Massachuesetts for 5 years. Currently she is a mentor for new school nurses and leaders. She is a subject matter expert for mentoring and working with special health needs.
Erin is the Assistant Director and Nurse Educator for the School Health Institute for Education and Leadership Development (SHIELD) at Boston University’s School of Public Health (SPH). SHIELD is a continuing education program that empowers school nurses and health professionals to manage the full range of health and wellness issues facing our schools and communities
Nursing contact hours (0.5 contact hours for each workshop) are provided by Northeastern University School of Nursing, accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
