QA Tester Jr. Entry Level (In-House Position)
Description
PSNI is currently seeking a full-time, office-based QA Tester Jr. Entry Level (In-House Position) to join our Engineering team. The QA Tester Jr. Entry Level (In-House Position) is responsible for the execution of software testing for one or more web-based applications. You will work with the QA Lead and developers to understand requirements and execute manual tests, and create summary reports. As a member of the team, you will be fully engaged with an Agile scrum team. You will develop an understanding of the QA process, learning test strategy, and execution of software tests in compliance with regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Execute functional test cases to ensure the system is robust and fit for purpose
- Performs testing assignments assigned by test leads/manager
- Ensures software applications or systems software meets technical and functional requirements
- Collaboration with the development team; ability to work with the development team comfortably and under pressure
- Identifies, records, documents, and tracks bugs
- Help facilitate execution of acceptance test cases by end users
- Work closely with QA Lead, developers, and end users throughout the software life cycle to ensure that applications meet the needs of the users
- Participating in all the ceremonies related to agile development (daily stand-up, grooming, retrospective, etc.)
The Must Haves
- Bachelor's degree required
- Good communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and on a team
- Candidate must pass a NH criminal background check
- 1+ years’ experience in the areas of formal system and functional software testing within an SDLC/software development environment
- Skilled in analyzing and reviewing requirements to understand system/software functionality.
- Knowledge and understanding of formal software testing types and concepts
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent analytical thinking skills
- Familiarity with TestRail and/or Jira is a plus
- Experience with agile development is a plus
- Internship or CO-OP with software or system testing in a similar industry is a plus
