RIO RANCHO PUBLIC SCHOOLS SELECTS PSNI’S SNAP HEALTH CENTER EHR TO MANAGE STUDENT HEALTH
One of New Mexico’s largest school districts selects the leading school health electronic health record (EHR) solution to manage all student health records
AMHERST, NH – June 15, 2022 – PSNI, the nation’s leading provider of school nurse electronic health record (EHR) software, today announced that it will be supplying its industry-leading SNAP Health Center to Rio Rancho Public Schools (RRPS) in Rio Rancho, NM. Using the SNAP EHR, RRPS will be able to manage the complete health records of their students including receiving electronic student immunization data directly from NMSIIS, the State immunization registry.
Prior to signing a contract to use SNAP Health Center, RRPS used the health module of their student management system to manage their health data. “It was a system that we just out-grew,” said RRPS’s Director of Nursing, Lynn Wheeler MSN, RN, NCSN. “We recognized that today’s complex health environment requires a full EHR that is specifically designed to manage everything from medications to pandemics. After reviewing market options, we knew SNAP was the right choice for RRPS.”
Introduced in 1992, SNAP Health Center was the first comprehensive K12 school electronic health record (EHR) system. Now in its 30th year, SNAP remains the industry leader, providing a full suite of health management features including medication management, immunization tracking and compliance, full student screening management including integration with many state immunization information systems, and complete incident management. SNAP was designed by a school nurse and the company, still nurse-directed, maintains a full RN staff, all with extensive school nurse experience.
“We are so excited that Rio Rancho chose SNAP Health Center to manage their health records,” said Tami Lariviere, VP of Sales for PSNI. “More and more schools are realizing the control that a comprehensive EHR gives them over managing their health data; control other solutions or the health module of a student information system just can’t provide in a pandemic world.” SNAP Health Center is the leading school EHR system in the market used by over 11,000 school nurses in 46 US states each day. “We began working with our first New Mexico customer in 1999,” continued Lariviere, “and we’re proud that more New Mexico districts such as Rio Rancho continue to see the benefit that SNAP can bring.”
