Taking the industry-leading school EHR to the next level and beyond
AMHERST, NH – June 27, 2025 – PSNI, LLC, the nation's leading provider of school electronic health record (EHR) software, today announced the upcoming release of SNAP Health Center v5 (SNAP5). The announcement was made at the NASN2025 national conference, the industry’s premiere school nurse learning event, in Austin, TX. SNAP is the nation’s leading school EHR, with over 18,000 users in 45 states and 22 countries.
SNAP5 has been under development for 4 years. It builds on SNAP’s comprehensive functionality with improvements to core functionality as well as many new features designed to be more efficient for users. Some of the enhancements include:
- Fully web-based platform
- Increased intuitiveness and efficiency
- SSO (Single Sign On)
- Incorporation of artificial intelligence capabilities
- Dashboards
- Increased use of templates throughout the system
- Focus on accessibility
The company worked with a national customer focus group comprised of school nurses and school health directors for more than 3 years. They provided input and feedback on both functionality and improved usability. “For this release, more than any previous, we not only listened to our customers’ inputs, but we integrated them into our design and development process,” stated Bob Bundy, VP Of Business Development. “We worked closely with our customers during the development process to ensure we were adding the features and capabilities needed to make SNAP even more effective at improving their lives.”
Introduced in 1992, SNAP Health Center was the first comprehensive K12 school electronic health record (EHR) system. Now in its 33rd year, SNAP remains the industry leader, providing a full suite of health management features. SNAP was designed by a school nurse and the company, still nurse-directed, maintains a full-time RN staff with extensive school nurse experience. With the announcement of SNAP5’s upcoming release, PSNI is excited to continue supporting schools in fostering healthy environments where students can thrive academically and personally.
