One of the nation’s largest school districts deploys SNAP Health Center - the leading school health electronic health record (EHR) solution - district-wide to manage all student health records

AMHERST, NH – August 19, 2024 –

PSNI, LLC, the nation’s leading provider of school nurse electronic health record (EHR) software, is proud to announce that the company’s SNAP Health Center has been selected by the Tucson Unified School District (TUSD) to manage all of the District’s student health records.

SNAP’s selection was the result of a competitive request for proposal solicitation process conducted to determine the best overall solution for the District. TUSD also included the SNAP Immunization Registry Link to interface with ASIIS, Arizona’s state immunization registry as well as the SNAP Medicaid Link, which integrates SNAP services with the District’s School Medicaid billing vendor and eliminates duplicate data entry for District nurses.

Dr. Joseph Gaw, TUSD’s Director of Health Services commented on the award, “Tucson Unified School District School Health Services' strategic initiatives demand high-quality data analytics, accurate tracking of healthcare services, and communications between the district and parents to ensure positive outcomes for children in our school community. We are excited to be working with PSNI to continue to advocate for the healthcare needs of our community and to promote a healthy learning environment so that students may learn and grow.”

Introduced in 1992, SNAP Health Center was the first comprehensive K12 school electronic health record (EHR) system. Now in its 32nd year, SNAP remains the industry leader, providing a full suite of health management features including medication management, immunization tracking and compliance, full student screening management including integration with many state immunization information systems, and complete incident management. SNAP was designed by a school nurse and the company, still nurse-directed, maintains a full RN staff with extensive school nurse experience.

“We’re happy and proud to have been serving Arizona schools for over 20 years,” said Tami Lariviere, VP of Sales for PSNI. “Schools of all sizes need powerful, yet easy-to-use functionality to manage the needs of the school health clinic. By implementing the features of SNAP Health Center, including the link to ASIIS and their Medicaid billing agency, Tucson school nurses will be using the most sophisticated functionality AND maximizing the efficiency of their time.”  SNAP Health Center is the leading school EHR system in the market used by over 13,000 school nurses in 45 US states each day. “TUSD’s strategic health service initiatives are far-reaching and visionary,” continued Lariviere, “and we very much look forward to partnering to help them reach their goals.”
