Overwhelming demand necessitates additional webinars after earlier sessions hit maximum 500 registrations

AMHERST, NH – June 17, 2020 – Today, PSNI announced additional sessions of its webinar, “NAVIGATING COVID-19: Using SNAP Health Center to Prepare K-12 Schools for Reentry” after three earlier sessions hit the maximum 500 registrations within hours of being announced.  This webinar explains the health challenges in re-opening school buildings while dealing with the COVID-19 virus and the important features built into SNAP Health Center that allow school nurses and administrators to monitor, in real-time, student health issues and take appropriate action if necessary.

The company’s additional webinars will be held Wednesday, June 24 at 12:00pm EDT, Friday, June 26 at 11:00am EDT and Thursday, July 16 at 11:00am EDT.  Those interested in participating can register at:  https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/rt/5425305239321121293.

SNAP Health Center is the country’s leading school nurse electronic health record (EHR) used by over 10,000 school nurses nationwide. SNAP has built-in features that allow school districts to monitor their students’ health and immediately notify administrators and public health officials of potential outbreaks.  “This webinar series has been tremendously well-received by school nurses,” said Terrie Hamlin, BS, RN, PSNI’s VP of Nursing Informatics.  “Now more than ever, schools and school districts are looking for ways to monitor and protect their students and staff.  The health trend monitoring features in the software were developed during the H1N1 outbreak. We are very fortunate that our founder was a school nurse and she understood how important this functionality is for any outbreak – including the one we’re facing today.  Schools using SNAP have had all the tools they needed from the very beginning of the COVID-19 crisis.”

Many school nurses only have the “health modules” of their student record systems to documents their overall student health. These modules often only track basic health information but do not provide the same comprehensive functionality of a dedicated school nurse EHR.  “SNAP is very quickly implemented – in a matter of a few short weeks – and right now, school districts are looking for EHR functionality that they just don’t have to confidently re-open,“ continued Hamlin.  “SNAP customers have been using this necessary functionality for years and they’ve got the right tools.  We’re happy to be able to help educate school nurses and show them the kinds of tools that they need.”
