Indiana schools can seamlessly import student immunization records into their SNAP Health Center EHR from the Indiana state immunization information system
AMHERST, NH – November 29, 2022 – PSNI, the nation’s leading provider of school nurse electronic health record (EHR) software, today announced the immediate availability of the company’s SNAP Imm Link solution for the State of Indiana. The SNAP Imm Link allows school districts using the SNAP Health Center to import the most current student immunization information from the Children and Hoosier Immunization Registry Program (CHIRP), Indiana’s state immunization information system (IIS). This is a huge advantage to schools who can now process their required immunization compliance in just moments. Without this feature, schools must contact parents and/or medical providers to get immunization manually.
With the addition of Indiana, PSNI’s SNAP Imm Link now interfaces with 30 state immunization registries. “It’s hard to express how grateful customers are for this capability,” said Terrie Hamlin BS, RN, PSNI’s Vice President of Nursing Informatics. “A health director for a school district with over 20,000 students said that she processed immunization compliance in a little over an hour – for the entire school district. She used the SNAP Imm Link and the form letter features in SNAP Health Center and said it saved her days and weeks of time. That’s why we keep innovating.”
Designed by school nurses, SNAP Health Center is best-known for its nurse-centric design. “Our focus is on giving nurses tools that work the way they do. Nurses tell us all the time how great it is to use tools designed for nurses, by nurses,” continued Hamlin. “You’d think that if you could save school nurses 2-3 weeks of time processing their immunization compliance – time they could be working with their students – everyone would do it. Everyone doesn’t – but we do. We’re very proud to release SNAP Imm Link for Indiana and look forward to more states in the near future.”
