The leading provider of student electronic health record (EHR) again completes industry-standard review, reinforcing its commitment to secure customer data practices

AMHERST, NH – December 1, 2022 – Professional Software for Nurses, Inc. (PSNI) – the leading provider of student EHR software solutions, used daily by over 11,500 school nurses – today announced that it has successfully completed the SOC® 2 Type 2 examination as it continually demonstrates its commitment to protecting sensitive student data for its customers in the US and 21 different countries.

A SOC 2 Type 2 examination is a voluntary review which ensures compliance with the leading industry standard for managing enterprise data. It validates PSNI’s security practices and controls meet the Trust Services Principles and Criteria for security, availability, and privacy over an extended period of time.

“This is the fourth major independent examination of our processes and policies review that we’ve undertaken – starting with SSAE 16 and then SOC. This gives our customers the confidence that PSNI’s security processes and controls are designed to protect their sensitive data and that they continue to meet or exceed industry standards,” said PSNI CEO Peter Redes. “We will continue to invest in our security systems and measurements like SOC 2 to ensure that our customers’ data is secure.”

Established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the SOC 2 examination is a technical auditing process conducted by independent auditors who measure the availability, security, and integrity of an organization’s unique data processing systems, and ultimately determine whether effective safeguards and controls are in place. SOC 2 reports are recognized globally and affirm that a company’s infrastructure, software, people, data, policies, procedures and operations have been formally reviewed.

School agencies can use these reports to evaluate vendors and verify whether or not they meet essential requirements, including security, availability, and privacy among others over an extended period of time.
