Nurses converge at DHD’s School of Nursing to examines mental health

Dimapur, February 25 (MExN): The School of Nursing at District Hospital Dimapur (DHD)conducted a two-day district workshop on “Mental Health Matters: Understanding Mental Health & Wellness” in collaboration with the Department of Health & Family Welfare, Kohima, from February 22-23. 

Participants included nurses from different districts of Nagaland, Community Health Officer (CHOs), Staff Nurses, ANM from various Sub-Centers/Health & Wellness Centres, Community/Public Health Centres, and District Hospitals of Peren, Longleng, Medziphema, Noklak, Wokha, Zunheboto, Chümoukedima, Nuiland, and Dimapur.

Dr A Temsuyanger Ao, Nodal Officer District Mental Health Programme Dimapur, was the guest speaker at the workshop, while the training coordinator was Bendangnaro, Principal School of Nursing, DHD. 

Resource persons included Ms. Limasungla Aier N/T, Vive.S. Chishi N/T, Yashirenla Jamir N/T, and Limabenla N/T. 

Topics such as Common Mental Health Problems: Suicide and Depression; Importance of Mental Health & Wellness; Healthy eating/Body image; Burnout and how to reduce burnout; Resilience; and Healthy Relationships were covered during the workshop.
