Standard Features

District IT will experience a smooth transition and fast start-up with our intuitive and comprehensive student data import. Designed in a way IT professionals appreciate and understand, the seamless data interface provides reliable and accurate data transfer from any Student Information System (SIS) into SNAP Health Center. Automatic synchronization of student data guarantees information accuracy, security, and integrity. Imported student demographics, emergency contacts, and critical health data ensures that data is always accessible, especially during times of medical crisis.

The standard report module allows for tallying and in-depth analysis of all data documented in SNAP Health Center. The report generator searches the database for user defined data and returns a summary of its findings in seconds and without disruption to the system. Hundreds of reportable topics allow the flexibility to generate reports that follow district or state guidelines. Major report categories include: Health Service Summary, Visit Logs, Administration Logs, Billing, Screenings, Immunizations, and Student Information. SNAP Health Center accommodates the utilization reports to support the NASN dataset project.

The report generator is designed with intuitive navigation and users can choose from two different reporting styles. With an infinite population criteria to select from and customizable search parameters, a wide range of statistical and/or student specific reports may be produced. Report results include customizable formatting of data results with options to print or export. In addition, report results may be group processed to expedite tasks such as mass printing/emailing form letters for non-compliant students, etc.

SNAP Health Center provides a standard billing module that simplifies medical billing processes and increases reimbursement. Medicaid eligible students are flagged for easy identification. To streamline the process, users simply document billable time and services in tandem with visit and medication/treatment documentation. Comprehensive and accurate billing reports are quick to generate and easy to submit. This feature allows the school district the freedom select any clearinghouse or third party biller to ensure maximum reimbursement is funneled directly back to the district.

Health Surveillance
Behind the scenes, SNAP Health Center continuously monitors student symptoms, absences, alerts, and health conditions for potential cluster cases and outbreak threats across the entire district or state. Real-time detection keeps administrators, school nurses, school physicians, and state Department of Public Health connected through a HIPAA compliant system with automatic notifications and emails. Early detection allows administrators to act quickly to reduce or eliminate potential health threats/hazards.

Group processing
To automate redundant and time consuming documentation processes, SNAP Health Center includes the ability for extensive group processing. This functionality allows users to apply the same information to select (customizable) groups of students in mass (e.g. apply passed vision screening results, schedule treatments, add permissions for treat, transport, and over the counter medications, etc.). Group processing is available throughout the program as well as for printing/emailing form letters, labels, and health records.

Form Letters
SNAP Health Center provides form letter templates that integrate with student health and demographic data to produce personalized correspondence specific to each student. Letter templates are categorized by: immunization letters, screening referrals, visits, complete health record, emergency record, etc. Users may import, customize, and store form letter templates in any language. Group processing letters allows large groups of letters to be printed/emailed based on a selected criteria within minutes (i.e. students that did not pass a screening, non-compliant students, permissions for a standing order, etc.).

Email encryption of form letters ensures safe transmittal of sensitive student medical information in a manner that does not expose nurses and school districts to the threat of a data breach, while saving the district valuable budget dollars on paper, postage, ink, and envelopes.

The SNAP Health Center libraries contain pick-lists found throughout the program. These lists promote fast and consistent documentation and enables meaningful data collection. Since each library is fully customizable, users may report on all documentation, making state specific reports and form letters meaningful and simple to create.

Appointment Scheduler
SNAP Health Center includes an integrated appointment scheduler, event calendar, and to-do list. The scheduler allows each user to keep a schedule of student and/or staff appointments. Appointments, with reminders, can also be scheduled directly from within a screening (for a re-check date) and/or future immunization dates for students who are conditionally enrolled. Appointments may be public or private to protect confidentiality.

Risk Management
From behind the scenes, SNAP Health Center monitors student activities for district risk-sets. When an identified risk is triggered, an email is automatically launched to alert all members of the risk management team. Risk management emails meet HIPAA requirements and contains no student identifiable information.

Year End
The year-end Promote process enables you to move, organize and update records quickly and easily. Promote “cleans up” the current SNAP database and prepares it for documentation in the new school year. This process allows student records to be easily transferred to a new location via an external media source or directly through the network. Current records are quickly updated and new student information is brought into the current year database.
